New Born Baby’s outfit?
Hi,
I have purchased couple of outfits for my little girl. I have 3 preemie sizes, few newborn sizes and rest 0-3 months and above. I didnt want to take a chance with the size, so went and purchased all sizes (and planning to return the extra ones or the ones which dont fit). I plan to take 2 of each size to the hospital.
But I’ve read that its necessary to wash baby clothes before they wear it. Is that true? Will they have any bad reaction if the clothes are not washed. The problem is that I dont want to wash all the clothes now since I dont know which I’m gonna return. Some are quite expensive and so I definitely want to return the ones I’m not going to use.
So wanted to know if its okay not to wash her going home outfit?

i really dont wash all of them but my son and daughter have both had very sensitive skin, they both have grown out of it but it only happened when they were infants but the un washed clothes didnt bother them, and when i do wash i use ‘free and clear’ without perfume, that makes a difference….
dont worry about washing.(if you plan to return what you dont use.)
to get the size idea, your newborn will most likely fit in the preemies for a week, and then go to newborn if they are a normal size (6-8 pounds when born)
my daughter was born 8 pounds 12 oz and she wore a preemie dress for her pictures and then she went to newborn the next week… grew out of those extremely fast and went to 0-3 mo.
my son was born in dec. and he was born 10 pounds! didnt wear preemie and only newborn for a week and went to 0-3 mo.
he is 8 weeks old and weighs 16 pounds, wearing some 3-6 mo and some 6-9. hes a big tough guy LOL.
