Graduation Party Favors

need a little help with HS graduation party.?

what would make good appetizers?
do u think its a bit, lame to decorate using only school colors? too boring? (my skool colors are blue and gold, i could also just use blue and white) AND
what would make good party favors?
wow first option sounds great! there will be around 100. no more than that. the party favors, (i barely have a clue) but the gift bags i want to get for the kids. i guess i’ll just shop around. the thing is i dont want to put out candy bags on the tables cuz i dont want the kids to go around attacking my guests, so i wanna make bags i can personally give to the kids so they can each have their own, as for my older guest? not so sure.

The tricky bit in appetizers is choosing items that appeal to a broad range of palates and food requirements. I am going to assume you don’t want any passed hors d’oeuvres.

Laying out a cheese and fruit platter somewhere is a safe bet to start with. Don’t be too adventurous in the cheese choices. Buy excellent cheeses, but the major stinky cheeses or obscure cheeses won’t go over well.

A platter of falafel balls with tahini, tzatziki and hot sauce, near a crudites platter with a couple of dips – including one vegan – should make a decent selection for your vegetarians.

A hotel pan of BBQ turkey meatballs gives your meat eaters something slightly healthier than regular meatballs and makes them accessible to people who won’t eat red meat.

Depending on the adventurousness of your crowd I would do a chicken satay – if they aren’t so adventurous, make it a teriyaki chicken.

I would also consider fried cheese ravioli with marinara sauce to add as people desire. It’s a little different than the usual mini pizzas, but still gives the same components in a medium they not have experienced.

Avoid mini egg rolls – they are always horrible and everyone thinks they are great for teens’ parties.

I’m not sure how many folks you have, but this should be a good start (being sure to have breads/crackers where appropriate).

I think you can either go all the way with the school colors or just make them an accent to the entire party.

I am stumped for favors – sorry.
