What is the Major that you do CGI Work for Movies or Games?

Hey, I was wondering what is the major that you do CGI work on movies like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc. Is it Digital Communications/Multimedia? Is it like Graphic Design? Besides movie stuff how about gaming? How many years of school does it take to get a degree that has a good chance of getting a job right after college?

Get a Bachelor’s (4 year) degree in Fine Arts at a college that offers classes in 3D/computer art. If you put together a stand-out portfolio, you can definitely get hired as a game artist right after college, probably for movie work as well.
