or should I just go with the flow when I and our baby girl have hers.. Also is it good lto have one before or after she is born?

It’s fine to register at Wal-mart. Just don’t expect people to get you the exact thing you asked for (happened to me). You will need tons of diapers, wipes, onesies t-shirts, baby shampoo, baby soap, lotion, blankets, washclothes, washing detergent, burp cloths and bibs.
